Joy Gonzalez

Joy Gonzalez’ paintings focus on the landscape and the important role the natural world plays in enriching our lives. Her paintings depict some of her favorite places - landscapes and seascapes of California as well as scenes from her travels.  Her style is impressionistic but realistic, focusing on the ever-changing light and deepening shadows of nature. She paints outside to capture the extraordinary array of light and color that may be seen in the open air.  Her studio work builds on the knowledge of nature’s colors learned from observing and painting outdoors.
